Cr 450 engine

This 50cc race engine at left is a twin cylinder - Honda also developed
a 50 3 cylinder to compete with a rumoured 3 cyl 2 stroke but it,
the tiny Honda 4 stroke was made but never sat in a race bike. The
h.p figure for the 50 twin was 16hp 2 21,500 rpm,which meant a Pme
of 16 kg/cm2, the highest developed 4 stroke ever. The 3 cylinder
50 would have developed 18hp at 25,000 rpm according to Joep Kortekaas.
Pictures do exist of the Honda 3 cyl 50.

and a nice guy with it. Hes a good friend and race buddy of my friend
Scotty Van Lewen. Scotty was his right hand man and generally got

rare race kitted CB92R.the new bike was
ordered (CB92) and fitted with the factory R kit. The follow up model
was the factory race model CR93. My friend Scotty Van Lewen owns this
bike and is near finishing its restoration. I believe its a 1963 model.
Scott lives in the U.S, and bought this bike off his cousin in 1966,
when his cousin replaced it with a CR93. It sat in his attic till
recently when he mailed me for tech help. I got him into action to
restore this priceless gem. |
